Acceptance of Terms
By downloading or using the MasjidAlert mobile application or visiting masjidalert.com, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the app.
Description of Service
MasjidAlert is a free community notification service that allows Muslim community members to receive real-time alerts from mosques and Islamic centers in the United States and Canada. The service includes:
- A mobile application (Android, iOS coming soon) for community members to follow masjids and receive alerts
- An administrator portal for verified masjid administrators to post community notices
- A web directory at masjidalert.com
Community Member Use
Community members may use MasjidAlert to follow masjids and receive push notifications without creating an account. By using the app, you agree to:
- Use the service only for its intended purpose of receiving community notifications
- Not attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or extract data from the service
- Not use automated tools to interact with the service
Masjid Administrator Use
Verified masjid administrators who post alerts through the admin portal agree to:
- Only post alerts on behalf of the verified masjid they represent
- Post accurate and truthful information
- Not post spam, commercial advertisements, or content unrelated to the masjid community
- Not post content that is false, misleading, harmful, or offensive
- Maintain the confidentiality of their account credentials
- Notify MasjidAlert immediately if they suspect unauthorized access to their account
MasjidAlert reserves the right to remove any administrator account that violates these terms or posts content deemed inappropriate, without prior notice.
Content and Liability
Alert content posted through MasjidAlert is generated by verified masjid administrators, not by MasjidAlert. We do not verify the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of alerts posted by administrators.
MasjidAlert is not responsible for:
- cancel Accuracy of alert content (janazah times, events, etc.)
- cancel Actions taken based on alert information
- cancel Missed alerts due to device settings
- cancel Delays in alert delivery
Always verify critical information (such as janazah prayer times) directly with the masjid when possible.
Administrator Verification
MasjidAlert manually verifies administrator accounts before granting portal access. However, we cannot guarantee that all administrators represent their claimed masjid at all times. If you believe an administrator account has been compromised or is being misused, contact us immediately at admin@masjidalert.com.
Service Availability
MasjidAlert is provided as a free community service. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time, with or without notice.
Intellectual Property
The MasjidAlert name, logo, app design, and website content are owned by MasjidAlert. Alert content posted by masjid administrators remains the property of those masjids. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from MasjidAlert's intellectual property without written permission.
Prohibited Uses
You may not use MasjidAlert to:
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, MasjidAlert shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the service. MasjidAlert's total liability for any claim shall not exceed $100 USD.
