1. Who This Policy Covers
This Privacy Policy covers all users of the MasjidAlert mobile application (Android and iOS) and the website at masjidalert.com. We distinguish between two types of users with different data profiles:
Community Members
People who use the app to receive alerts from masjids without creating an account.
Masjid Administrators
Verified imams and administrators who post official alerts to their community.
2. Community Members — What We Collect
We do NOT collect:
Your name, email address, phone number, physical location, IP address, demographic information, or any personally identifiable information from community members.
The only data we collect from community members is:

We cannot identify you from your push token. If you uninstall the app, your push token is automatically invalidated by your device and is no longer usable.

- • No monitoring of usage time
- • No location tracking
- • No behavioral profile building
- • No data sharing with advertisers
- • No data selling to third parties

Stored locally on your device only and never transmitted to our servers:
- List of followed masjids
- Notification category preferences
You can delete this data anytime using "Reset App Data" in Settings.
5. Masjid Administrators — What We Collect
Administrators who create accounts to access the publishing portal provide:
Email address
Used for account authentication and account recovery.
Alert content
Notices you post are stored in our database and served to followers.
Note: Administrator accounts are created manually by MasjidAlert staff after identity verification. We do not allow self-registration.
6. Masjid Directory Data
Our masjid directory was compiled from publicly available sources including Google Maps. Information includes masjid names, addresses, phone numbers, and websites that are already publicly listed. If your masjid's information is incorrect or you wish to have it updated or removed, contact us at admin@masjidalert.com.
7. Third-Party Services
MasjidAlert uses the following third-party services to operate:

8. Children's Privacy
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app does not require any personal information from any users, including minors.
9. Data Security
All data is transmitted via encrypted HTTPS. Database access is protected by row-level security. We never store payment information.
10. Data Retention
Push tokens are retained until app uninstallation. Alert content is retained indefinitely for community records.
11. Your Rights
As a community member, you have inherent privacy. You can clear local data via Settings or uninstall the app to invalidate your token.
